On December 17, CHN Energy's GD Power held the "Annie's Wish" International Children's Painting Exhibition and Charity Auction, exhibiting 48 excellent works selected from the "Annie's Wish" International Children's Painting Competition, as well as 15 joint works created by Chinese and Indonesian children, to build a friendship between China and Indonesia and promote cultural exchanges.
The "Annie's Wish" International Children's Painting Competition was held from July to September 2024. A total of 122 contestants aged 4 to 17 participated, including children of Chinese and Indonesian employees from units in Indonesia, as well as children of employees from representative units of GD Power in China. In total, 123 entries were submitted. After expert selection and online popularity voting, 48 works were finally selected for exhibition. At the same time, based on the submitted works, outstanding contestants were selected to enter the semi-finals. Chinese and Indonesian contestants were paired one-on-one, and 15 paintings were completed by cooperation in conception, creation, and base coloring. These jointly created works were also exhibited.
The theme of this exhibition is "Connecting Children's Hearts, Painting the World Together.” The children of Chinese and Indonesian employees used their unique perspectives and vivid imaginations to depict the beautiful scenery of their hometown, their vision of a better future, and their understanding of the friendship between the peoples of China and Indonesia. During the exhibition, a charity auction will be held simultaneously. Visitors can record the number of their favorite works, decide on their bidding amounts, and fill out a charity auction card to participate. After the exhibition, the highest bidder will receive the painting they bid on. All proceeds from the auction will be donated in full to the "Annie's Wish" scholarship fund, which helps underprivileged children in Indonesia complete their studies.
The "Annie's Wish" Foundation was established in 2023 and named after the late Indonesian employee, Annie, to commemorate her kind, optimistic spirit and concern for education. The foundation has set up an account, established a scholarship fund management committee, and formulated a complete management and donation charter. It is the only officially certified scholarship fund project initiated by a Chinese company in Indonesia and has won the respect and recognition of the government, the public, and partners. Previously, more than 5,900 Chinese and Indonesian employees participated in the fundraising, raising a total of more than 400,000 yuan in donations, and five student donations have been made.
While developing high-quality projects overseas in Indonesia, the company actively embraced its social responsibilities. It promoted a mangrove protection initiative. By implementing measures such as river dredging and providing medical assistance, the company has fostered a harmonious and symbiotic relationship with local communities. Additionally, it continues to build the "We Are Together" brand for international communication and cultural exchange. Various cultural integration activities are planned and executed to strengthen the friendship between the Chinese and Indonesian peoples while also promoting cultural exchanges and economic cooperation between the two countries.
